Peter J. Goodman, Esq., has been a practicing attorney since 1996. His specialization is in real estate law, religious corporation law, and personal injury law with an emphasis on purchases and sales, litigation, foreclosure prevention and loss mitigation.

Mr. Goodman was a regular presenter of the closings portion of the Community Development Corporation of Long Island (CDCLI) and NassauCountyHomeownershipCenter’s HUD certified training program helping first-time homeowners obtain the dream of homeownership. Mr. Goodman’s most recent speaking engagements on foreclosure prevention, homeownership, and/or shortsales include: The Center for New York City Neighborhoods; Charles Rutenbeg Realty, and The Neighborhood Housing Services of Northern Queens. Additionally, Mr. Goodman authored the cover article for the October, 2008 Nassau Lawyer entitled “Keeping up with the Latest Reforms in Foreclosure Litigation” and the September, 2009 Suffolk Lawyer article entitled “Protecting Tenant’s Rights at Foreclosure.” Most recently, Mr. Goodman was quoted in the New York Times, the Long Island Business News, and has been quoted several times in New York Newsday.

Property Ownership, Sale and Refinance

The Mr. Goodman is centrally based in Brooklyn, New York, with offices in Long Island. Mr. Peter Goodman is an approved attorney residential settlement agent for the majority of lending institutions in the tri-state area.

The firm has been performing mortgage closings for over 10 years which has given us the experience in eliminating the needless delays and formalities such as advance notice or scheduling conflicts commonly seen in settlement offices. The firm recognizes the individual needs of each client and dedicates a support staff to satisfy and fulfill the client’s requirements. The firm is structured to allow the closing process to develop within several specialized departments which include pre-closing and scheduling, document preparation through funding. This enables each client to specifically track the file at any stage of the closing process. The firm is approved to act as closing attorneys for numerous lenders which enables the firm to close residential, mixed-use, commercial, condominium, co-op, F.H.A. and V.A. real estate transactions. Lender Representation
Mr. Goodman, P.C. has an action-oriented loan scheduling team that works with your staff to ensure that loans are quickly and conveniently scheduled in accordance with lender guidelines. Clients and their borrowers are offered the ability to close at a location outside the office, as may be required to accommodate the clients’ needs. Further, loans are regularly closed Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Our staff understands that the closing is the borrower’s last impression of the mortgage salesperson, mortgage broker and lender. Therefore, exceptional effort is made to ensure each and every borrower’s closing experience is positive.
